water is A Global Problem

Safe water wells, Hygiene training, and Community development

In the last 20 years we have raised funds to drill over 500+ new wells across India, Pakistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Malawi, DR Congo, etc., to provide safe, clean water.  This water is given to all creeds and always free and maintained by local friends.   Many women and children are spared walking for hours daily to carry water. Children can now attend school. The risk of kidnapping, violence and slavery is greatly reduced, in addition to living longer, healthier lives.

The WHO says: In 2017, 5.3 billion people used safely managed drinking-water services – that is, they used improved water sources located on-premises, available when needed, and free from contamination. The remaining 2.2 billion people without safely managed services in 2017 included:

  • 1.4 billion people with basic services, meaning an improved water source located within a round trip of 30 minutes
  • 206 million people with limited services, or an improved water source requiring more than 30 minutes to collect water
  • 435 million people taking water from unprotected wells and springs
  • 144 million people collecting untreated surface water from lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams.

Call To Action

We have drilled many wells over the years and we are happy to report they are all still in service, and being properly maintained.   In the last twenty years, we have drilled wells in DR Congo,  Ghana, India, Liberia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Uganda. Our protocols for providing wells include: water being free to all those nearby regardless of creed.   We include a set of 17 CDs covering community development, sustainable agriculture; children’s, women’s, and men’s health; and business start up tips.

One Success Stroy, Tanzania

Tanzania’s water sources are the same in all seasons. For many years, people in rural areas have used unclean water. Because of this hardship, they tend to lose focus and direction to their future.

Project Area and Beneficiaries

The project is expected to take place in Bariadi rural district, the leading area in Tanzania to produce clean water. The district was formerly part of the Simiyu region. It is located in the western part of the Simiyu region, which is in the Northern part of Tanzania. The project area is nearly 1300 people, including children and parents in Bariadi rural areas (Nyamongo Village).

Water is Life! Water Transforms!

Just imagine the joy and excitement on the faces of people, young and old alike, when they see and taste fresh, safe, cool water coming from a new well our CMM Partners helped to build. Together we have provided hundreds and hundreds of wells to remote tribal villages where people are being encouraged and strengthened by our trusted indigenous friends.

With the priceless input of our indigenous friends we have learned strategies how to do these over the last twenty years in fruitful ways, bringing healthy water to help people live longer, more productive lives while reducing violence to women and children who had to walk miles each day to provide for their families. Wise stewardship has shown us how to oversee the efficiencies and expenses to maximize the fruit that remains for years to come and eternity for those we are reaching with your help. Imagine getting your daily water needs like this!

Many Are Joining With Us Together

Many folks have joined with friends, family, businesses, and co-workers to pool their money to drill a new well through our long-term, embedded friends who know their local communities.

Our CMM members equip many in their community as we are providing a great service and never charging for water and regardless of their creed. It is a powerful example of compassion across the seas to everyone and often leads to longer, healthier lifespans, increasing access to education (rather than children hauling water for hours each day) and reducing dangers of sexual exploitation and kidnapping, rape etc. of women and children.

Ending Systemic Poverty

One donor, who has given toward several wells in the last year, told me, “I don’t know of a better way to get out of the valley of debt than by giving to provide a well through CMM. I gave for a well saw my $2,000 donation returned many times over when I sent it overseas.”

Yohana Mayiku has drilled many wells in Tanzania with CMM, as he works in rural,  tribal villages. Before, women and children often had to walk hours a day, often missing school, to carry enough water for the day.  Women and children faced violence, kidnapping, and sex trafficking, walking in remote areas just to get water for their families.  Giving free wells opens many doors as the villagers see firsthand the love of God through providing safe, clean water and hygiene training and community development to transform lives for all eternity.  They live longer, more productive lives and avoid dangerous paths rife with violence and possible sex slavery.
